Ever since I got hit with massive wanderlust, I haven’t been able to picture a life without travel. Even though I am a 23-year-old, in the third year of my degree and working a part-time job, I always try to make travel my #1 priority. It takes a lot of willpower to put every extra penny possible towards that next trip — but the destination always makes it well worth it!
The following are the top 5 countries I WILL see before I turn 30:
5. Australia
Down Under. When I was 7 years old, my dad pulled out his old projector and showed me more than 100 photos of his trip to Australia. At the time, I looked at the Sydney Opera House in complete awe — I had never seen anything like it.
4. London
This one is all Harry Potter and Doctor Who inspired. British accents, King’s Cross, tea — what more could you ask for?
3. China
When I first saw a photo of Shanghai, I thought I was looking at something out of a Sci-Fi movie. I could not believe that it was a real-life city. China, in general, had always been put on the back burner. This growing economic superpower was locked behind its communist blanket. Wouldn’t it be an adventure to explore something so out of the ordinary?
2. Thailand
Thailand is just the start. I really want to go on one of those year-long Southeast-Asia soul adventures. It seems like a different universe over there entirely. Beautiful temples, grand oceans and vast land — how could you see that all in a single week? Answer: You Can’t.
1. South Korea
Ever since I experienced Tokyo, I haven’t been able to shake the grandeur of modern Asian metropolises. Neon lights, millions of people and the out-of-this-world food. How does it get better than Tokyo? How can I experience a metropolis that meets or exceeds my heightened expectations?
Some have argued…Seoul.
